Spells For Forgetting: I Forgot


That was a bit of a journey....but I can see that I'll be on the unpopular side of things. The writing was more disjointed than I would've liked, it wasn't very cohesive, and nothing much happened in the story it just dragged along. The murder mystery/thriller part I loved, when I knew what was going on. But the characters weren't enough to drive the story, I felt no connection to them and most of the time didn't know what their motives were. Overall my rating for this book is 2/5.

Blood of the Lotus: A Demon Slayer Delight

Summary: Nova Fandera has always known her duty was to kill demons. She just never thought she would join them. In this winding tale Nova finds family secrets through her relationships with angels, demons, half-demons, and a world full of more questions than answers. She is kept in the confines of her father's estate, locked away, as if to hide a secret. In her journeys she finds a family magical artifact, she hopes it's the answer to her questions but one only know if they answer the call of the Lotus.  Review: Needless to say, this world is beautifully set with mysteries and monsters galore. A battle of angels and demons and a mysterious family heirloom makes this definitely worth a read. Nona is adventurous and a very thought out character. Belladonna: A Poisonous Life

This book was good but not great. I can see a majority of people liking this book (which I did). But a lot of it dragged along and the plot line was weak and didn't entirely drive the story. I loved the scenes with Death and wish there were more. I think what mostly stalled this book was Signa "figuring out society". It just made the plot drag and feel like this book was comprised of 70% filler episodes.
