Witches, Talking Houses, and Murder Mysteries

Summary: In this story set in Salem, Massachusetts we follow our character Vianna Roots. She comes from a long line of murderous and power-hungry witches. When her mother passes away she inherits the family haunted house which has a mind of its own. Vianna hasn’t exactly been in the family witching business and tried to lead a normal life. But, that is hard to do when you can see ghosts. A series of unfortunate events leads to a murder mystery and a bewitching misunderstanding between Vianna and the other covens. She must find out what happened to her best friend which is a current ghosting resident in her family’s haunted house. Who killed her friend? Why? Was it her own family or an outsider from a rival coven?

Review: As a witch myself, I will sing this book’s praises from the mountain tops. The haunted house was my favorite character and held many mysteries within its walls. The main character, Vianna Roots, is extremely likable and rebellious in her families witching ways. The murder mystery itself was a very compelling story and has a great twist to confuse and excite readers. This book was an entertaining read and unique in many ways. My overall rating for this book is 4.25/5.
